The LRLR will be gathering in Fairmont, WV on Saturday June 15th. Riding will kick off on Sunday June 16th where they explore the spooky Cryptids of West Virginia such as the Mothman, Bigfoot, and the Flatwoods Monster.
The Long Reach Long Riders are a horde of theatre technicians/motorcycle enthusiasts from around the USA, Canada and beyond who ride to raise money for charity and have been doing so since 2004. What began in 2004 as a single event immediately turned into an annual ride that has raised over $1,000,000 for Behind the Scenes.
As is the custom with all worthy theatrical undertakings, this one began life on a bar napkin, at the USITT conference in Minneapolis, 2003. That first ride took took the riders from Boone NC (in the snow) to Long Beach, CA in March 2004. It was supposed to be a one-time event but they had so much fun they decided to do it again the following summer. And the summer after that and the summer after…well, you get the idea.
Their age group runs from the late 20’s to the mid 60’s and they ride many different bikes. It’s a great time with great people riding for great causes and they invite you to join them. Learn more at www.lrlr.org.
