James “Trapper” McEvoy was a lifetime fixture in the Entertainment Industry world. Member and leader within IATSE Local 478, Trapper most recently worked as a Rigging Grip in flim/television, but he also had hands in live theatre, tradeshow, concerts and previously was employed with SGPS Showrig-New Orleans. An OSHA & MEWP instructor and co-chair of the Training Committee for the IATSE Local, he was the biggest advocate for safety on set. His reach in the behind the scenes community is vast and his absence is felt by many. |
